Michael O’Neill leads his Northern Ireland side out in Belfast on Tuesday night with only pride to play for after being eliminated from next years’ European Championships. The Green and White Army has only secured two wins, both against minnows San Marino, in their seven games so it’s hard to see they can get a positive win when Group H leaders Slovenia arrive to Windsor Park.

Matjaz Kek’s side only need four more points to secure their place in Germany next summer and confidence must be oozing after winning the reverse fixture 4-2.  The Slovenians are currently the highest-scoring team in their group and that tally was extended by beating San Marino 4-0 and Finland 3-0 in their last two outings.  Slovenia look too good to ignore here, especially when a win would take the pressure off their next two games against Denmark and Kazakhstan.

The man who scored twice against Finland, Benjamin Sesko, has now notched 8 goals in as many starts and I like him to get a goal here. The RB Leipzig frontman will also be on the penalties if the Northern Ireland defence, without the suspended Paddy McNair, give away a spot kick.

Good luck!
