🌍 FIFA World Cup – Group I ⚽

🇳🇴 Norway vs. France 🇫🇷

⚽️ BET 1: France win/Both Teams to Score
💷 1pt
Best Odds: 3.25 at William Hill (Enhanced Price)

Following the passing of Didier Deschamps’ mother this week, he will not be on the touchline tonight, having returned home to be with his family. Assistant coach Guy Stephan will step in, just as he did for the defeat to Denmark after Deschamps’ father died in June 2022. Now 69, this will be his first time leading France at a major tournament.

Stephan takes charge with France coming off two straightforward wins — results that, in truth, came against opponents they should be dispatching comfortably. Senegal, who concede goals for fun, and Iraq, ranked 60th in the world, were hardly the sternest tests. Perhaps that explains why France have shortened to 6/1 to win the tournament, but I’m not getting carried away yet.

This squad is stacked with outrageous talent. Kylian Mbappé remains in the same bracket as Harry Kane and Erling Haaland among the world’s elite centre forwards, if such a debate even exists. Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise is arguably the best winger on the planet right now, producing 30 goals and 29 assists for club and country last season. And that’s before mentioning the likes of Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola.

Although, France have shown defensive vulnerabilities. They conceded against Senegal in their opener and have leaked goals to Northern Ireland, Ivory Coast (twice), Colombia and Brazil in friendlies, as well as Azerbaijan and Iceland (three) during qualifying. With that in mind, I think Norway can absolutely find a goal, maybe two, in what I expect to be a wide‑open contest.

Norway have been one of the standout sides so far, edging Senegal 3–2 before comfortably sweeping aside Iraq 4–1. Erling Haaland already has four goals to his name and is understandably a short price to score again tonight.

France should ultimately have too much quality over the 90 minutes, but with five goals in each of Norway’s matches so far, and France scored three twice, another high‑scoring contest feels very possible. A 3–2 scorelines wouldn’t surprise me at all — only this time with Haaland and company on the wrong end of it. Especially as Mr. Mbappé looks to be on a mission here, and unstoppable in getting to his destination.

⚽️ BET 2: Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland both to score
💷 1pt
Best Odds: 5.00 at Betfred & Paddy Power (Enhanced Price)

BET VOID: Erling Haaland not starting.

Do you actually need me to tell you why here? I mean who wasn’t on the treble with these two and Leo Messi the last two weeks?
